Blog Reviews

I'm hoping to spread the word some more about my books. If anyone's interested in fairly reviewing my book for their blog, please drop me a line.

Pandora's Future Cover Reveal

I've been putting a lot of time into my upcoming urban fantasy novel, Pandora's Future. While I'm still writing, I've done some work on the cover and other aspects of the book, so I wanted to share the cover as I currently have it. I may make some changes to it before I publish my book, but I'm quite happy with it how it's turned out.

I've Been Writing...

I've been a bit on the quiet side lately and that's because I've been writing and working on a new urban fantasy novel called Pandora's Future.

At the moment I'm a bit over 20,000 words into it, and it will take me some more time to write. However, I can tell it's coming together well and I think you'll really enjoy it when you see the finished product.

I don't want to give away too much in case I end up changing the characters' names, but this is a standalone novel (though I haven't ruled out the possibility of writing follow-up novels/sequels to it later). I'm aiming for an e-book release of this novel around the end of the year. If it's successful, I may follow it up with a paperback release.

I'll have to see how it goes. I'm also working on Silk and Earth (Book 2 of the Sisters of the North), so I may post a bit less frequently here while I work on writing these novels. :)

Title Announcement: Pandora's Future

I've started work on a new standalone urban fantasy novel entitled Pandora's Future.

The idea began with an image that a friend shared from Tumblr or Pinterest, and it just inspired so many story ideas that I knew I had to write this book. At the moment it's in the planning stages and it's my first urban fantasy, so I'm curious to see how it works out. At the moment I envision an e-book release but not paperback, but I'll likely release it for paperback as well if it does well.

I'll tell you a bit more about it further down the line, but I can tell you that it blends mythology, fantasy and a futuristic setting in a very unique and intriguing story. So stay tuned and I'll have some more information on it for you in the future. :D

Book 2 of the Sisters of the North: Title Announcement

It's a way off yet as I'm currently working on Book 2 of the Sisters of the North series, but I wanted to let you know that the working title is Silk and Earth.

There are reasons for the name that may not yet be apparent, but the title relates most significantly to Cerus (visiting King Merrion's court), and Jonas's backstory (including the people he left behind). There are other shades of meaning connected with the names, but that was my main intention behind them. They also follow a similar pattern to Book 1's Fire and Gold.

I've started working on Book 2 but it has quite a way to go yet before it's ready to publish, so I will keep you apprised. :) Thanks everyone for your encouragement and support.

Fire and Gold is Now Available on Amazon

I've been working on Fire and Gold since 2014 (I wrote it during NaNoWriMo in 2014) and I finally published it yesterday for paperback and Kindle. Fire and Gold is the first book in the new fantasy series, Sisters of the North, and I'm currently in the process of planning book two.

You can find it here in paperback and here for Kindle.

Thanks everyone for your support. :)

Fire and Gold is On its Way

I just thought I'd give you an update that I've finished the editing and formatting for Fire and Gold, which is the first book of the Sisters of the North series. I've been working on other aspects of the book myself too - I illustrated it and created the cover using some stock art and brushes that I've licensed. Preparing every aspect of the book takes time but now it's done and I'm waiting on a print proof to see how it looks as a final product.

There may be last minute changes, and how long it will take to publish now will depend on that but I envision I'll have the book out by the end of the month. Stay tuned. :) I'm really excited to see this book come about because it's been a long term project for me and I've been working on it on and off for two years.

First Glimpse of Fire and Gold

I want to take this opportunity to tell you about the upcoming book that I'm working on at the moment. It's called Fire and Gold, and it's the first book of a series called Sisters of the North. At the moment I envision a 3 part series, but that may change in time if I write more follow up books.

Fire and Gold tells the story of two sorceresses (Alexa and Cassia), who are members of a magickal order of priestesses in the city of Kalle. Their temple is attacked and they (along with two priestesses they rescue) need to go into hiding to escape the men who want to kill them and try to reach others from their order. Another plot arc explores the story of Jonas, who lives in a town where most of the populace have 'been disappeared'. Rather than leaving and returning to his family, which Jonas cannot do, his goal is to break into the enemy's stronghold.

For more details, you will have to check out the book when it's released. I'm currently on my latest edit, integrating feedback from my proofreaders, and I have employed the skills of an excellent mapmaker. I envision a month or two until the book is ready. I've also worked on quite a lot of supporting material for this series, such as a glossary, a lot of drawings of the characters and I designed a full rune set which shows the designs owned by one of the characters in the game. Being an art and craft-y person, I'm planning to make myself a personal rune set using these symbols, which in the book series have a basis in mythology. I created a whole pantheon for this series, so it's exciting for me. I love fantasy and it's brilliant to get to write it.
